Welcome to our academy
From the moment you walk in the door you will forget about everythingelse. You can train (mentally and physically) for hours and go homehappyabout your day and what you did. You will be a better spouse, parent, friend, and more balanced person. This is what happens whenyou start on the Jiu Jitsu journey, whether it's a hobby or lifestyle youwill benefit in every aspect of your life from the training you receive onthe mat's. There are few places or activities that bring people truehappiness, and I'm not saying that that this is the only way of life, butas the great Ricardo Almeida said "I have yet to meet someone whodiscontinued doing Jiu Jitsu and 6 month later was a better person for it".many backgrounds including the medical field, college students,
Our students are as diverse as they come and consist of people fromaccountants, law enforcement, and much more. We have women's,kids, teens, and adult classes which are constructed to provide acombination of self-defense, confidence, and loyalty through Jiu Jitsu. Also, we have different levels of classes to accommodate eachindividuals skills and capabilities from the newest of white belts to themature black belt, but we all have the same common goal of workingtogether to improve ourselves and our craft.
SJBJJ academy news and updates

Congratulations to all those who came out to compete at "The Good Fight" at Rowan University, NJ. We are proud of those who went to represent our school and equally as proud of those who came out to support their teammates. Whether you are a competitor or a supporter we appreciate all the hard work you put in to the academy and we see how much everyone is advancing and putting their time in!
With that being said we are proud to announce that team SJBJJ won the good fight! Our team had 216 points and we beat out our competitors by just over 100 points. What does this mean for us? It means that we are doing our job on the mats to train hard, stay safe, and learn how to use Jiu Jitsu. We come into class with clean gi's, a good attitudes and it shows in our good sportsmanship no matter where we are.

A word from Professor Bongiorno:
"To those of you who competed or showed up to support your team, its a great day to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. This way on Monday you can start the week out right on improving in both areas. The medals will be lost in a year but the lessons can last a lifetime. Compete to learn and pass on the knowledge. If you compete for a medal you missed the point.....The wins or losses are not why we train or compete. You all were like a true family with awesome attitudes. Whether you competed, won or lost, coached or just showed up to show support you all came together as a team. That's why I love SJBJJ. I will see you all on the mats next week."
